I have the scorpion pistol with the sb side folding brace. i can honestly say it is the most fun i have had shooting in a long time. very easy to go through 500 rnds of 9mm. and it is very accurate.

you are correct in that you cannot shoulder a "pistol" in competitions. I am currently using a Ruger PC Carbine and love it. Another route is Palmetto State Armory has some ready to go AR-9's for around $600. Higher-end stuff would be Lead Star, CK Arms, JP Arms, Sig MPX.. you get it.

Is there a specific reason as to why or is it just that they don't want to play in the "grey" area of the law? I have been looking at a few of the PSA carbine offerings and like everything else they have they appear to be a good value with a good bit of positive reviews with the only real negative being the lack of a last round BHO which I cannot understand why they cant get that right.

There are a few theories floating around. The gray area is one.

It’s a pistol not a carbine so it needs to meet pistol criteria. Since it doesn’t you can’t use it. Etc.

Yet it's nothing a $200.00 piece of laminated paper, $50.00 worth of engraving, and a stock that looks almost the same as a brace cannot resolve.

    Fuck no, it's not illegal.

Only vertical grips are prohibited on pistols. (need to add: "pistols under a magical number of inches in length - 26"???)

Vertical grips and hand stops (that's a hand stop and/or barricade rest) are A-OK

That's a hand stop and they come with it installed. You can swap it out with a Magpul AFG2 if you want and they fit perfect.

Sweet pistol, tell the knuckle head who told you that it’s there so you don’t shoot your paws off
