Default Heritage Mfg doesn't know how to measure a revolver's barrel length

A revolver barrel length is measured from forcing cone face to muzzle face. Since there is a gap of only a few thousandths, the barrel is measured muzzle to cylinder.

One of Heritage's models...the 2-inch Barkeep .22LR....is sold as a two-inch, and barrel does extend 2 inches from the frame to the muzzle.
However, measured from cylinder to muzzle, it is 2-11/16" long. Similar discrepancy occurs with their 3-inch Barkeep.

Seems odd that an agency that would prosecute possession of a rifle barrel an eighth under 16 inches would allow a handgun manufacturer such latitude.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Why would the ATF care about how long the barrel is on a pistol? Also being 16 11/16" would be fine on a rifle.

    ??

Anyway, I just found another part of the puzzle. In the owner's manual, they do list the correct barrel lengths.

Oh well. On to other things....

Maybe some confusion from translating Chinese to English. (sarc)
