Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Common sense gun laws violate the the 2a. The nra has never lobbied for criminals to have gun rights restored.

Did someone leave the door to DU unlocked?
I understand that... This site was probably too far right wing for my post -- I didn't think that centrist shit from me was going to start an avalanche of crazy, or I would have kept it to myself. I assure you though, I'm not a troll.... for all the shit here implying I'm not what I say, I can go in my basement and take the pictures to prove it. I'm just one of those weird centrist type of people who apparently are lumped in with the socialists now. You didn't say this....your reply was less hatefilled than most, I'm just lumping this in to minimize my replies -- but for all the second amendment crap people posted -- there is more to the constitution than the second amendment, and I bet 98% of people who reply with that crap love to talk about the constitution but have never actually read it. This is a common thing of the uneducated right wing.... cite things based on what you want them to say instead of what they actually say (now bring on the quotes of people who can copy and paste small pieces of the second amendment to back up my point).

Would it make you happier if it was a $2000 gun from a specialty store? You are echoing anti-gunner's talking points which is why you are being reproached. You are entitled to your opinion and we are entitled to disagree. Maybe if you had a history here you might be received more warmly. We get trolls and do not like them and you are coming across as one, whether you are one or not.

BTW no one on here wants to see schools or other places shot up by anyone with any gun, period.

I've got no problem with #5... for people who are competent and qualified to have an AR... have them. I have no question you and your dad should be able to have them. That doesn't mean that EVERYONE should. I'd also go on a limb and bet you and your dad didn't build $400 hunks of plastic shit guns. You're competent people who know what you're doing. My few friends I have that are in law enforcement agree with the idea that they would prefer every asshole on the planet not be armed with assault weapons. They aren't liberals....they just don't want shot while trying to do their jobs.
#4.... I wasn't implying that they can right now, I was implying that the gun control debate always goes on the extremes. The NRA absolutely would argue that having a criminal record shouldn't stop you from buying guns. If you have $400, you should spend it on guns, period. That is the position of the modern NRA. If they don't openly make that argument, it's only because they would lose more of the center than they already have.

Never said you weren't a hunter. Claiming to be a hunter is what FUDDs say to attempt to legitimize their anti-2A attacks. And as to your 'uneducated' remark, I have a degree in Criminal Justice, so I think I have read the Constitution a time or two.

As to your other comments, yes they are too left-leaning for a pro-Constitution/gun/American citizen, like most of us here.

Fair enough.... I don't spend a lot of time online in gun forums. I got on here because I've developed an interest recently in old SxS's, and was looking for classifieds to try to find decent guns not sitting on a gunshop rack. I came across this by fluke and stupidly chimed in with my centrist BS.... didn't realize the can of worms I was opening.

Yes... I would prefer guns to be expensive high quality items. I understand the flip side to this argument, and am certainly not elitist... I just think that when a weapon capable of wiping out a school can be bought by a pissed off 18 year old with money they got from their birthday cards, bad shit will come of it. I drop my kids off at school and there is one armed guard.....which I appreciate....but he stands in front of the school with a bright blue shirt on and a huge gun on this belt that screams to a would be shooter "get me first!"... and as a parent it is a true worry to me. I hate that I have to worry about this shit now. When I was a kid, my dad had no thoughts of a guy with a military style weapon walking in to my grade school. We do have to think about that now. It's not leftist.... it's human.

Are you aware that the current background check system was developed with the cooperation of the NRA as a way to preserve gun rights and exclude those who should not have them? This is plain wrong.

Then why does the NRA spend the money they do to keep politicians from closing the gun show loophole?

Maybe you should read the 27 words of the Second Amendment, and tell us where the words reasonable and common sense infringement are.

Not being an over educated indoctrinated libtard, I guess I'm not smart enough to figure out the Founder's true intent.

Here is the entire cut and paste snippet from the PA Constitution:

    "Right to Bear Arms
    Section 21.

The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned."

Not much room for ambiguity there.

You forgot "Saturday Night Specials", "Cop Killer Bullets", and "Weapons of War".
