Default Re: Dems are 7 votes short of AWB

Does anyone have access to a list of the 7 who haven't co-signed?

These are the people to focus on with correspondence THANKING them for not jumping on the bandwagon.

A conciliatory tone would be good. Something like "We share your concerns about the (still rare, but) increasing frequency of true, random mass shootings (not to be confused with gang/drug activity, which is predictable criminal behavior). But we also believe that the proposed legistlation to enact a AWB, limit magazine capacity, and limit lawful, private sales, will not have the desired effect and will cause more problems and limit individual liberties beyond that which is envisioned. As such, thank you for your reasoned response in not co-sponsoring/endorsing this legislation."

This is a good approach. The Dems will be trying to persuade them to cross over to the dark side, we should be showing them support and appreciation to justify their resistance

We should know soon. I don’t think he will support background checks. Between Senators like Rand Paul and the NRA, I think Trump will say no. (Hopefully they override the insidious whispers of people like Toomey)

If he does wind up giving an inch I think it will be for red flag laws.

I'm thinking that the dreaded "gun show loop hole" is going to be tied up especially since they can tie a private purchase directly to the last mass shooting and the shooter who was denied by NICS.

There are more than 7 who did not vote, they just NEED 7 more votes to "have enough".

Those 31 are the ones to put pressure on...except Nancy...she can't read anymore.
