Re: Open Carry Freedom Festival in Pike County October 12-13
Went to the event both days. It was worth it and I hope that Kahr does it again next year. They had to have spent a fortune on this. Had some minor kinks they need to work out, but otherwise it was as good a day spent supporting our Civil Rights as one can imagine. Did not stay for all the bands and fireworks on Saturday night. The speakers were all great and were very accommodating with taking questions both in seminar sessions and from the main stage. Also, did not take advantage of the shooting range. On Sunday it was so crowded that they had to stop sending people over to it because it had become so congested. Not every day that one gets to chat casually with the likes of Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation. GOA, FOAC, SAF, NRA, all well-represented on both days.
"Tig" Tiegen's account of the terror attack on the US Consulate and Annex in Benghazi was very good. He exploded a few myths surrouding Ambassador Steven's death, was clear that his security team had received a stand down order from "Bob", the CIA chief in command. Did not think that the order came from above him. He was openly skeptical about excuses given for the failure of Washington to send in troops to relieve the Consulate and the Annex and why they did not hold water. He did not speculate on the motivations for refusing to provide assistance. He and the other survivors spoke out after that had seen our Government lie to Ambassador Steven's family about the circumstances surrounding the Ambassador's death. The whole "spontaneous protest that got out of control" was pretty much a complete fabrication. He said the movie was, generously, about 60% accurate but that the film makers honored the one demand of the survivors, which was that the film was not to go into the political motivations and speculations about the causes for the government's failure to act and the political debate thereafter. The film makers wanted to go there. The survivors wanted their story told to honor those that died in Benghazi and not have their honor tarnished by the hurling of political mud and believe that the film did that.

Re: Open Carry Freedom Festival in Pike County October 12-13
Am I misreading things. OR are there two different threads, with same title, in different forums concerning this event ?
It's confusing me. I keep looking at the one and thinking my post(s) have been removed.
Can or should these two threads be merged ?--ET

That was my fault. Left it up to mods if they wanted to change it back when I first posted. Had first put it in Political and also posted it in Pocono Region/Pike, figuring that it would be folks there that would likely be the ones to take advantage of it as Kahr is located in Pike County.
