Default Open Carry Freedom Festival in Pike County October 12-13

Looks interesting. I plan on attending. Being held at Kahr Arms facilities.

I posted this in the Pocono Region forum too. Mods can take that down if they wish.

Looks like a cool event. Tommy guns!

Might want to double check before you go because open carry is being limited. They are not allowing loaded open carry guns and zip tying guns. I received an email about this this evening. I called the organizer and expressed my disappointment. If it does not change then we are not attending. You cannot have an open carry freedom festival and yet disarm all open carry firearms.

Received a "CORRECTION" email yesterday from them.

Correction on open-carry policy: Only long guns will be restricted by being zipped tied and no ammo. (Insurance reasons).

Open-carry pistols in holsters will be permitted. Very sorry for any confusion this might have caused.
So I guess I am back to GOING.

I received the correction and we are going to go but I'm still not thrilled about the situation. The insurance issue should have been worked out from the beginning and it should not have been advertised as an open carry event.
If we are all carry guns, and I can guarantee that many of us have knives in our pockets, why am I not allowed to carry a full sized purse? I find it humorous that purse size is also being limited. I thought it was a freedom festival 🤦
I'm going to give some flexibility because it's their first year but mostly because I want to go away for the weekend.

A friend and I went yesterday. We both had a good time.
The event was well attended; just not as well as the organizers expected.
I'm not the greatest at making crowd size estimates.
BUT to me it looked like several hundred people if not 1,000.
Next year the organizers will probably do a better promotion and more people will be attending.

I bought about $150 of souvenirs. Two of which were signed books.
    - "Good Guys with Guns" signed by Allan Gottlieb.
    - "13 Hours The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi" signed by John "TIG" Tiegen".

Lots of good speakers. My favorites were Allen Gottlieb and John Tiegen.

My friend spent a bit more. He bought a new fully decked out AR15.
