Re: Walmart question
Would you accost me if I were...
openly gay?
openly trans?
openly democratic?
(add some to this list if you have them)
Those aren't even constitutional rights? Why are you accosting me for openly exercising my right?

Re: Walmart question
We now have a "Code SPARK" (the "spark" is that "flower-looking" part of the logo) and when there are more than 3 people in a line, a "Code SPARK" is to be called on the overhead, to have any register-trained associates not directly assisting a customer to come to the front and open a register.
I have nothing to do with registers though and I don't think I've ever heard it announced. Lines still form, although not as bad as some other locations I've been to.
Fun story:
I was shopping one night around 11pm. I had a list - it was a real "cart filler". (may as well get that employee discount)
When I got to the front to check out, I came past the self checkout, headed toward the one open register (only one after 10/11pm) when I saw that the light wasn't on. WTF?
I hate self checkouts - anywhere. Unless I'm getting a discount for doing the work myself, I'm not using it.
I looked at the woman manning the self checkout area and before I could say anything, she said "Yeah, there's no registers open."
"Seriously?", I replied - "I'm NOT going through self checkout with all of this."
"Hold on, I'll call and see if someone can open a register for you". (gets on radio)
"Sir, go ahead up to register nine and someone will be right there."
"Great, thanks!" I said
Two people approached that I recognized as management from the overnight team.
"Sir, did you need cigarettes?"
"Nooo???"
"Oh, do you want to check out? I'm sorry, but we're short on cashiers tonight - she can help you up at the self checkout though."
I replied, "I'm not going through self checkout with all of THIS - forget it."
They started to apologize and I interrupted and told them that I'm an associate, and I understand that they may be short, but I'm not using self checkout and that if I were a "regular customer" I would be REALLY pissed that there were no registers open.
"I guess someone will have to put all of this back then."
I left my full cart right in the main aisle, and went home.
We went to a different Walmart the next day and bought everything there.
I had intended to complain - I started the process online, but there would be too much required info that would link it to me and I didn't want to chance any retaliation (as an employee) for it.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Walmart question
I can attest to this. I volunteer at a food bank and I would estimate that easily 90% of the food is from WalMart. Many years ago, in a similar WalMart poo pooing thread, I posted some pictures of the floor to ceiling boxes of food from WalMart.
Hate WalMart for virtue signalling, but no need to make up bullshit on top of it. They DO do good works.Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.
