Target Sports USA Prime Membership?
Does anyone have this prime membership for target sports USA? I buy ammo from them sometimes but it's always bulk anyway so the free shipping isn't really a benefit. I'm curious how much of a discount the wholesale pricing is though.

Re: Target Sports USA Prime Membership?
If you split it with a friend it's not a bad deal. I went in on it with another guy and we'll split cases every time a good deal comes around. I think you need to break $1200 or so to get the membership price back in savings.
It's also a nice way to try out a bunch of different ammo types without getting beat up on shipping, since any amount ships free.To disarm the people...[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them."

Yeah I'd definitely do it if I could split it with two or three other people. No one ever wants too though. Used to be a way better deal before they started collecting sales tax.

Re: Target Sports USA Prime Membership?
If you didn't have the budget to buy cases with free shipping as needed, I could see how the "savings" of not paying shipping on a couple boxes a week, to spread out the cost pain, could make the deal worth while.
I thought about their program a while back, and it looks like on average I spend enough a year on ammo to at least break even, but since I've built up a stash i've seen my procurement go down, so now I'm not sure it would be worth it.Member: NJ "undocumented" Felons Club. NRA Life Member

If you buy a crap load of ammo it might be a good thing.
You must pay attention to the man behind the curtain. Or you will loose.

Like I said, my personal procurement has tapered off such that the numbers don't work out.

Re: Target Sports USA Prime Membership?
So it turns out the discount is roughly 10%. I spend so much time looking for cheap ammo that ships free or driving to stores to buy it that this will almost be worth it just for the free shipping. I bought a few boxes of Wolf gold, I was going to buy some Tula to try but I don't see the negligible cost difference worth flushing that money down the toilet if it smells like a meth lab, doesn't feed, isn't accurate, etc. I love the smell of Federal XM193 and it performs well so I'll probably just pay whatever it costs to stick with that if Wolf gold doesn't meet my expectations for whatever reason. I'm pretty disappointed to see that they have no 12 gauge target loads in stock at the moment though. If I just paid $95 for this prime membership, I'm not going to be buying ammo anywhere else for the next year so hopefully they get some target loads in stock soon. Lots of buckshot and slugs ... no birdshot. Strange.
