Tulpehocken Rifle and Pistol will be hosting a CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) sanctioned as-issued military rifle match on Saturday November 9th 2019. It is open to all safe firearm owners; membership in club is not required. Any surplus or commercial copy of a vintage or modern military rifle that is in as-issued configuration may be used. The match qualifies as a marksmanship activity for eligibility to purchase surplus US rifles, pistols, or ammunition from the CMP.

Schedule: Saturday November 9th 2019. Sign up starts at Noon and closes at 12:50, with the Garand/Springfield/Military rifle match starting at 1pm. The match will be held at the club’s Berger Road range (109 Berger Rd, Pine Grove, PA. 40.560805, -76.365671). The M1 Carbine match will start 15 minutes after the completion of the GSM match (around 3:45pm).

Entry Fees: $15 per match

Course of Fire: The match will follow current CMP competition rules. The As-Issued Military Rifle Course B (50 shots) will be used for Military rifles. The standard CMP M1 Carbine course of fire will be used for the Carbine match. The GSM match will be fired at 200 yards, the Carbine match at 100 yards.

5 shots to sight in (optional) 5 minutes
20 shots from the Prone position 20 minutes
10 shots from the Prone position, with reload 80 seconds
10 shots from the Kneeling or Sitting positions, with reload 70 seconds
10 shots from the Standing position 10 minutes

M1 Carbine Time Limit
5 shots to sight in (optional) 5 minutes
10 shots from the Prone position 5 minutes
10 shots from the Prone position, with reload 60 seconds
10 shots from the Kneeling or Sitting positions, with reload 60 seconds
10 shots from the Standing position 10 minutes


Additional Information: Loaner M1 Garand rifles and M1 Carbines are available from the club for this event if needed at no cost. Only club ammo may be used in loaner rifles, it will be available for purchase the day of the match at the club’s cost. If you wish to use one of the club’s loaner rifles please contact us prior to the day of the match.
