    I am not aware of any ammunition restrictions or requirements on Coyote.

    If the game warden believes that is usable for hunting. I doubt that very much anyone would believe that you would be able to sneak up on a game animal to beat them with the tire iron.

    There's been like 60 people killed by blackbears since 1900 and maybe 10 per year attacked across all of north America so I dont see needing a shotgun to defend against them, they aren't grizzly or polar bears.....

    You can use semi-auto rifles now.
    I never new about the shot size requirement because I carry my MSR for Coyote.

    This same topic, hiking with a long arm, comes up very regularly here. Every thread I read, I wonder if someone is looking for a cover story to go poaching.

    Yes, I know. I was only commenting on the shotgun limitations. Which would make it harder to poach a deer with no4 buckshot.
