Default NRA as a Forum Sponsor?

Has anyone thought about contacting the NRA to see if they would sponsor the club or maybe give us a membership discount? I even had an idea that maybe a member could receive a free 1 year membership with the purchase of a PAFOA Subscription...or a new Pennsylvania NRA member could receive a free subscription to PAFOA?? Lots of ideas and definitely a lot of leg work to make anything happen, but what do you guys think? I'd be willing to help set something up if needed.

I know the NRA has their issues, but they are still a powerful pro gun faction that we should try to make an alliance with...IMHO.

PAFOA is it's own organization. While I love and support the NRA, I don't want anti-gunners to be able to point at us and say we're just a lackey.

I could look into some sort of affiliate program that gets PAFOA members discounts, but beyond that I wouldn't be too interested at this point in time.

Thanks Dan, I absolutely see your point. I was just throwing some ideas out onto the table...

I am glad to hear "no NRA" sponsorship. The NRA is a good organization, however they are not fully representive of the different veiws of all the members on this board. I have to say i am really impressed with how fast this board has taken off.

Thank God no, since NRA (or any large org) always comes with baggage and wants to inforce some sort of control..

What about the Firearms owners against crime and contact Kim Stolfer, he's a stand up guy and maybe we can both show support for each other?

PAFOA works closely with FOAC/Kim Stolfer regularly, our main website includes banner links to their website on every page load.
