    They look nearly identical in every way other than the barrel lug.

    I like the way the Colt looks better in that regard.

    My eye pulled to the Smith immediately, but the full lug on the Colt is nicer.

    Overall, the Smith - but would look much better as a full lug gun.

    I've always been a S&W fan due to overall looks. Never cared for the Colt downward curve of the body just over the trigger. Also Colt's "fussy" cylinder release. Overall, a S&W revolver seems more aggressive looking, in part due to the shape of the trigger guard. I own a S&W 686 and a 617 (both have full lugs). Also a model 41 semi-auto.

    Two fine firearms! The Smith & Wesson wins for me but only because of the grip styling, the non-checkered bottom 1/4 inch creates some more interest before the grip ends. If the Colt had that then it would be a toss up for me.
