They could have had a staunch conservative pro gun guy for a representative but gun owners stayed home and played with themselves and Fitzpatrick the rino won with only like 20% of registered voters voting.

How do you think so many close races go to democrats when there is a Libertarian in the race? Recent example was the election of Terry McAuliffe as Virginia Governor. McAuliffe pumped money into the Libertarians just enough to siphon off Republican votes. Fortunately the Virginia Governor is only one term or else McAuliffe would have done it again. Do you get your news from CNN?

What we have sir is a republic, if we can hold on to it, and aiding the DemocRats in any way shape or form will hasten it's demise.

    Yes, but, as stated below.

Liberal Democrats do not vote Libertarian.
They vote straight Democrat or "Independent" Socialist.

The Libertarian ideal of live and let live is the polar opposite of Liberal Democrats looking for 75% taxes and income redistribution.
Hardcore Libertarians only bleed votes from the Republican candidates and ensure Liberal Democrat victory.

We do not live in a dreamworld where end results don't matter.
End results are all that matters.

We have a Republican President that has proven he nominates true Conservative judges for the Supreme Court and lower courts.
We have a Republican Senate that has proven they vote to confirm those true Conservative judges into the courts.
We have a Supreme Court that has proven it is our best protection for the Second Amendment and our gun rights.

Now is not the time for dreamworld politics, our choice is very simple.
Live in reality and help protect our right to keep our guns, or live in a dreamworld and ensure gun confiscation.

The Liberal Democrats openly campaign for the destruction of the Second Amendment, and they openly demand that our guns be confiscated.
Mathematically, any vote for a Libertarian candidate is a vote for Liberal Democrats and gun confiscation.

Trump is the only candidate that has enough popular support to beat the Liberal Democrats and win the next Presidential election.
The next President will replace at least one if not more Supreme Court justices.

We must stay the course and let Trump and the Republican Senate finish securing a pro Second Amendment Conservative Supreme Court.
To throw away such an obvious and obtainable option to protect our gun rights is self destructive for ourselves and our country.

I hold a lot of Libertarian views (except open borders) but I won't vote that way until I see a credible candidate. I voted Perot and watched Clinton take office and sign the AWB. Trump is worrisome but I don't see any Dems that are less worrisome. I don't believe for a second that a Dem sweep with a plethora of draconian laws will lead to the next revolution. I believe it will lead to a lot of misery for us and nothing more.

As a young man in my 20s, I feel profoundly torn. I do not relate to people in person, only in online chat circles.

I was formerly an unsure liberal, and I still admire their open-mindedness towards marginalized peoples, future-proofing America for the automation revolution, non-interventionism, and aggressive climate change action (which I have practically adopted a defeatist stance on). On the other hand, I think that the young American left-wing has become so sickeningly spiteful of America, they often sound like they just want to destroy it from within. In school, they have been taught to only look at America through the lens of her shortcomings. I barely remember being told positive stories about America in my K-12 education. I had to read up on the more positive aspects of our history myself to love our nation. This angle of K-12 education is coming home to roost. In a general survey, only 40% of American millenials said they wanted to live in a capitalist society. 46% preferred socialism, 6% preferred communism, 8% preferred fascism. I hear so many of my peers just bash America in every conceivable way, and roll their eyes at our liberties, namely the second amendment. The left wing sphere has also become an insulated, self-perpetuating echo chamber. They push each other to embrace more and more radical ideas through criticizing not only more and more petty aspects of America, but each other as well. While they decry the current US government, they are still unapologetically statist and are chomping at the bit to be in power so they can radically alter America. As you can see, the young left is jockeying for control of the entire Democrat agenda, and "moderate" democrats are absolutely impotent to repulse them. HOWEVER, I do not feel extremely strong contempt for my peers. They are crushed by debt, navigating the mankind's most fantastic paradigm shift, and many have only known a highly polarized political environment. I love and pity my peers as much as I despise their ominous beliefs.

A big factor in these mass shootings that is completely ignored by everyone is the state of young men today. They are, quite simply, lost. The reasons for this are multi-factorial, but much has been due to increasing male failure to interact with women and keep pace with them. #MeToo uncovered disgusting characters who needed to be brought to light, but it has also left many young men extremely cautious around women. I hear tales from boomers about they asked a woman out multiple times or followed her around to win her heart. Haha, yeah, doing that today would get you socially blacklisted as a stalker. Men have also fallen behind in education and are struggling to keep pace, but nobody pays attention because women rising to dominate all fields has drawn all the attention. Many men are lesser educated and subsequently have lower socioeconomic outlooks, and as progressive as today's times are, many men refuse to date a financially stronger woman, and many women refuse to "date down" to a lesser educated/poorer man. While I do not advocate "sleeping around", you can see a rising trend in sexual habits. 28% of young men today are sexless, which is a drastic increase from the usual 13-17% it has hovered around since the late 90s. This can be a barometer to how shut in, isolated, and lagged-behind young men are. Online dating has not helped either, as not only has it cheapened the relations between men and women, but it has also created an environment where the warmth of human interaction is lost, and people are summarized by a photo and one-liner. On top of all this, the aforementioned left wing often attacks young men, either for their gender or their race, for a multitude of reasons. Essentially, these men who have been kicked down are now being backed into a corner and berated. Even 'maleness' is an uncertain concept: what defines it? What should men strive for? Should men be brave and masculine, or quiet, tender, and understanding? If both, what balance should be struck? Of course, none of this largely matters to other people, as young men are supposed to be tough. There are other groups that are suffering worst. Young men have to suck it up, as society has implied. Despite all of man's strength, modern times have shown me that men are just as reliant, if not moreso, for strong role models and prescribed purpose. With nationalism being eroded into platitudes, rapidly shifting ideals and an uncertain identity, a profound defeatist nihilism has overtaken much of the young west, especially in young men. It is no wonder that I see scores of lost young men online flocking to extreme ideologies, such as the far right, to find strength, hope, and camaraderie. These ideologies care for them, tell them they are valued, explain all their ills into tangible enemies, and give them advice on how to be stronger. Many of these far-right personalities manifest as self-help youtube channels, promoting exercise, nationalism, avoiding porn, etc. Just as nationalism is eroding by and large, it is also being re-kindled in young men who are embracing a 'Know Nothing' style of nativism. Even I consume a mixed dish of far-left and far-right youtubers, and much of my ideals of strength and masculinity are derived from the latter. I exercise vigorously and study up on a variety of subjects to be a strong well-rounded American man, ala Ben Franklin. They have shown me the wisdom of making it my top priority to find a strong woman to build a family with. I fastidiously study American history and her founding principles to use as a lens with which to examine current events.

So no, I cannot say I am a libertarian. I want the government to promote nationalism and love for our nation. I want positive views of America to be told alongside the negative ones to offset them. I do not believe the young American man can be resuscitated by libertarian uncertainty in the modern wild west of ideologies. I do not wish to tread on anyone and want every American to be equal and feel accepted and for no one to be oppressed, but if we do not promote self-love and provide strong, non-caustic male guidance to young men, you will likely see the 52% socialist/communists advocating a complete evisceration of American values, and the 8% fascists lash out from their isolated rage. To use strategic lingo, we must regroup nationally. But that, I fear, is a task impossible.

Of course, all that I say is heavily biased from my narrow point-of-view, and most American men are probably not 'lost', but I believe many of my points are applicable to some men out there. Sorry to rant up a diary... just would like to post my thoughts somewhere.
