    If melting point is the criteria for a "Saturday Night Special," then all polymer-framed firearms would fall under that category.

    If I recall correctly, Walther P22 slides were zinc for a while as well and were known to crack rather badly.

    Yes they were made of zinc and did crack. Fortunately they did at some point make the slide thicker on the bottom edges and they hold up a lot better. Mine has the enhanced slide and hopefully it will last awhile.

    Go back to the 1990s S&W made the Sigma 380 which had a Zamac or zinc slide and the service life was about 1500 rounds.

    Do you know when Walther made the change. So far I've had no issues with mine, but only maybe 2K rounds.

    Smith and Wesson even put that in print. Disposable gun. Take down required the use of a dowel. Horrible little gun.
