Default Little Known Secret: Poor Man's Colt

I came across this little know budget carbine, and it's true "mil-spec" in every way. The Armalite DEF-15, or Defender 15. It can be had well under $500 (just search gun.deals) If you want something different than a PSA or M&P15 that has a chrome lined 1:7 barrel, this could be an option. And I like the roll mark... It's an actual AR15, ARMALITE RIFLE.

No rail, no mapgul, no mid length. But I like it. Also there is a railed gas block option.

I wonder why they are rarely seen?

Apparently these were introduced in the fall of 2014.

Is the current Armalite the same as the original Armalite company, or did someone just buy the name?

The brand name has been bought and sold more times than an Illinois Senate seat.

    Yeah just like Springfield Armory.

My 1st AR assembly was with a complete Armalite upper back in 2010 or 2011 when I was still an inmate in NJ. Still have it and it's a decent shooter.
