Default California Felon with Gun kills Police Officer

My prayers go out to the offficers family and those caught in the crossfire.

That said, how, with California’s thousands of gun laws did a convicted Felon get a gun?

    Sarcasm intended.

There is a LAW that says felons can't have a gun. That felon must have broken that LAW.

Kali shot down mandatory sentence enhancements for felons in possession of firearms , even for killing cops.

Legislating to prevent people's acts is fantasy
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Exactly. Mass murder usually results in the death penalty so what is another few years for skipping a background check or having an illegal magazine?

Has anyone ever interviewed these guys in prison and asked them their motivation and what law or punishment may have discouraged them?

If someone could present a law that would prevent the next “mass” shooting or even have prevented the last one, I would consider it without regards to my rights, but I have yet to hear one.

With the NRA in smoking ruins, I’m really afraid they have us this time. I already emailed every legislator I have and the White House. And will start calling if they ever propose anything specific. I have heard that a few hundred calls and emails can sway a vote, so don’t think you don’t matter. If a few million individual NRA members reach out, that’s better then anything crooked Wayne could have done anyway.

Where's the sauce, detailing he's a felon and what he was convicted of?

IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)
