Story I just read on CNN.com indicated how successful New Zealand’s gun buyback program has been. They have so far collected just over ten thousand weapons from the estimated 1.2 million in circulation.

I guess the law calls for all semi-autos to be turned in and they indicated they had no idea how many of the 1.2 million were semi-auto.

Conservatively guessing that maybe 20% were semi, that means they need 240,000 turned in and they have gotten 10,000? 4% compliance sounds like a huge success to me.....

Keep this in mind when you speak to your neighbors, friends and political reps. Bans don’t work and buybacks don’t work.
