    There is.
    I'm still learning.

    A few things might help.
See what distance you can repeatedly make hits.
Place a marker ( toilet paper or some such ) along or in any shooting lanes you have at that limit.
Be aware of the deer body angle in relation to where you want to make that hit.
Post a pic of your deer down.
    Good luck.

Technically they’re freezer candidates but these guys will become fully nocturnal pretty soon and I won’t see them again until next year. :-)

Only two bucks so far, a small 7 pointer and this 8 pointer.

I always see my vanishing summer bucks again after Christmas. Like clockwork if they make it through the regular rifle season. Flintlock is where it's at!!!!!!!!

The past couple seasons, I've gotten lucky after most of the deer I saw early crawl into a void.
I had a garbage truck 2 seasons back spook a buck which ran right under my stand. Last year, i caught another one trotting along, nose to the ground chasing a doe during the rut.

A lot of hours watching and waiting paid off.

Most of the bucks on those early pics haven't been around.
I spread out the cameras to check but just a group of 5 doe, another group of 3 and a single have stopped by regularly.

I know those deer are around.
Patience and time in a tree.

I just got a modern in-line for this year’s deer/bear muzzleloader season. After shooting, cleaning, shooting, cleaning, I might’ve expended all my patience for the entire year!

But good insight on the magically reappearing bucks.

A great morning to be in a tree. 55, clear. no bugs early.

I climbed 20 feet up about 6 AM.
At 740, along came my buddy and gave me a slightly quartering to shot at 15 yards. I thought it would be OK and had a complete pass through.
He is a small bodied deer. Might be 2 1/2.

The gel shots in my knees yesterday really haven't started working but I'm not bitching.
About an 80 to 90 yard drag..

It's like an early 70th birthday present and i'm getting this one mounted just for the cool rack.

Now my neighbor will have to choose from the 11 or 3 nice 8's back there.

Glad to see you got him before he pulled his disappearing act. That is an impressive rack for a smaller deer.

My neighbor said he had never seen this guy on his cameras.
We live about 500 yards apart.
Last year he shot a 9 point and I was disappointed thinking it was the one I was watching.

A few weeks later, I shot a 9 point and it was the one I was watching.
I had never seen the one he shot.

Their range areas must have split somewhere in between.

I cant believe the number of decent but mostly small bucks in this residential area but I'll take it..
