Re: Mitch McConnell looking at Assault Weapons Ban
The only people that show up to Senator's residence is freeloader democrats. Everyone else is too busy earning a living paying for burdensome taxes, ridiculous and unnecessary licencing fees for work, illegal immigrant education and healthcare and all the giveaways the democrats get to show up at anyone's house to protest.

Re: Mitch McConnell looking at Assault Weapons Ban
You are correct. However the latest attempts of an AW ban may have grandfathering in it, but the left has made the newer bills a lot more stricter. For example, similar to NY and CT you may be allowed to keep what you have but it will require registration. If they allow an owner to keep over ten round magazines, they will ban the transfer. Meaning one can't even give them away, they are effectively dead with the owner. Gun clubs and ranges will have to apply for approval for grandfathered semi auto use and one will be only allowed to transport them from an approved range and back home. Furthermore and most importantly ;don't expect a sunset provision.
One version of Feinstein AW ban had a provision that ban the new manufacture and sale any gun, rifle or pistol that could accept a over ten round magazine. So your glock 19 just became an assault weapon even if you only owned 10 round magazines.

Re: Mitch McConnell looking at Assault Weapons Ban
The so called gun safety legislation (to be shopped) at the national level will be some amalgamation of the recent Connecticut, New York and New Jersey confiscation laws. Watch also how they try to require some basic psychological testing and documentation of passing to allow one to purchase and possess both ammunition and firearms. I agree with another poster that I did think this would come later than sooner. The Republicans have apperared to cave in unless they have something up their sleeves!

You wont see an AWB this year or next. But you can bet it will be on the menu with the next Dem President. It seems our legislatures have the appetite once again.
