Re: Is the Shield Money Well Spent or Not
Mine has a safety. I don't use it because I'm not used to carrying handguns with safeties and don't want to rish forgetting to flick it off if the need arose.
It functions identically to the non-safety version - it just has a safety on the side.
I would have chosen "non-safety", but for $199, beggars can't be choosers.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Is the Shield Money Well Spent or Not
When looking for a new EDC for Ms Grip, we went to a lot of shops and tried a lot of rentals. The Shield was a hands-down winner. I can shoot it almost as well as I can shoot my PX4 or 1911, and it fits in a pocket. Ms Grip also does well with it, and she likes the feel. I don't like the trigger feel at all, but I can shoot with it. We got one for her at a very good price, and she is happy with it.
On a recent visit to Tanners, a Ruger LC9S followed me home. As always there, the deal was too good to leave it there. I like the trigger and feel, and it has become my EDC. A thumb safety doesn't bother me at all, as I am 1911 trained.Boy, I say boy, you're reaching the limits of my medication!

Y'all got some big asses, or you're wearing some bigg-assed baggy pants if you're carrying a Shield in your pocket.

Re: Is the Shield Money Well Spent or Not
S&W has another rebate promotion for the Shields going on now bringing the the price down to $218. Think it's for gen1 only but still a very good deal imo. Personally have a gen1 with apex trigger mod and feel the trigger is way smoother than my 2.0 full size. And yes EM it is very comfortable in my pocket with the Desantis Nemesis. Don't wear tight geans anymore btw.

Re: Is the Shield Money Well Spent or Not
The $199 deal and the case of 50cal ammo cans free shipping around the same time were the best deals ever. I remember people forking over 600-700 dollars for shields when the first came out.

Re: Is the Shield Money Well Spent or Not
The $50.00 rebate is for all M&P products including the .380 EZ and both gen Shields. I think PSA is the lowest at &199.99 for the gen 1 with safety after the rebate.
Hard to beat it for that price. As if this past summer S&W shipped 2,000,000 Shields.
