It comes as no surprise that without a police presence that crime rates would rise. Uniform Crime Reports over a few years time would tell the real story.

Re: This neighborhood got what they asked for and now they regret it
"The State Police Barracks In Moon now covers East Pittsburgh Borough, nearly 30 miles away…
“It’s bad here, it’s bad in East Pittsburgh,” the mother of three said.
“I think I called 9-1-1 maybe five times before they got there,” the mother said.
The single mom of three is a nurse and is afraid to go on camera."
Just imagine if we had a gun ban.... and nobody could shoot back except the bad guys.

Re: This neighborhood got what they asked for and now they regret it
They ought to be looking for someone local....
1. Restart their Police Department.
2. Get a neighboring municipality to "share" police, for which they'd pay to employ.
3. Deputize people to patrol the streets and engage violent folks.
The State police are way too far away. Gotta plan before you act.

You reap what you sow...maybe the residents will think twice next time as actions have consequences.

The irony, half of the protesters probably don't live anywhere near there.

Then the people after suffering upon them from criminals, purchased firearms, and formed a neighborhood watchers.
And peace again returns.

I was gonna say, sit out on your front porch, heavily armed, a couple nights a week, and be free with your discharges, and shit will suddenly become peaceful again.
