Doubtful that they're detecting RF. It's more likely they're seeing the PIR sensor that you have there reflecting/refracting sun light and are skittish from that.

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Fatwa is a Muslim religious decree, usually a death sentence.
Salman Rushdie has a fatwa on his head.

I found that wiring a piece of apple just above and beyond the trip pedal in a havahart trap is pretty successful. They can't just reach beyond and grab it and they have to stand on the pedal to reach up for the bait. Then you dispose of the critter in your normal fashion.

P.S. I haven't caught any cats yet, hope I never do.

As of late , I have found myself in a war on 2 fronts ..... both with the g'hogs and now coons.
Both for different reasons and lucky for me the coons are easier to trap as I can't go putting bullet holes through the porch roof.

For groundhogs, I caught 2 last year and the one this year never did enter, but he got 40 gr. of subsonic copper in his left ear.
