    Default Friends house burglarized.

    Hey all,

My best friends house was broken into yesterday.Thieves made off with 2 rifles and a handgun. upon discovery of the break in he called the philadelphia police who then brought in a detective.
The Detective is requesting serial numbers which is normal. The thing I found odd was he wants my buddy to go to doylestown courthouse to get his LTCF info to hand over. the LTCF in question has been expired for at least 5 years. Philadelphia was not the issuing authority. what is the reason for requesting info that has nothing to do with the burglary? I told him to forget about providing any LTCF info and only concern himself with info related to the break in.

    Any thoughts ?

Because they want to revoke his carrying status. His LTCF is expired, but they probably still want to try to get him on a revoked status (for lack of a better term) in case he applies in Philly.

That's what Philly does. Punish the victim of a theft.

^^Yep,if he didn't have the guns in the first place then they wouldn't have been stolen and possibly later used in a crime.

If your not legally required to do so which I am pretty sure he's not then I would tell the detective NOPE! In the nicest way possible of course.

Nothing good can come of digging out info on a license that was issued over 10 years prior. Did he ask why they would want it, as it is not related to the burglary? It seems the Philly PD should be able to call the Bucks sheriff and get the info if it is linked to an ongoing investigation. I see no reason he would have to do it.

If by nice you mean saying fuck off and die, then I agree.
