Re: first day of buck
Here is a pick of a 10-pointer shot the first day about 100 yards from my office chair:
Probably would have been 11 points, but it looked like one point was broken off of his left side.
And here is another taken on Tuesday less than a quarter mile from the first:
My brother, who has hunted for over 30 years, says this one is the biggest buck he has ever seen in real life.
Both of these taken in coal-cracker Schuylkill County.
There is also a picture of a third at a local restaurant that was hit by a car within a mile of the two deer in the pics, that is similar in rack size to them. Maybe you're doing something wrongPower always thinks...that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.

Re: first day of buck
How close is that to Pine Grove?
Guns are dangerous, but no guns is more dangerous.

Re: first day of buck
Poppel, I too hunted allegheny co all week and didnt see ONE DEER. Went out on opening day, didnt see anything. The I went up to Erie for 2 days, DIDNT SEE ANYTHING! I think the most wildlife ive seen in the woods this season is a few crows and maybe a woodpecker and squirrel.
Dont Forget To Give Me Some Good Rep! Thanks!

Re: first day of buck
4 of us saw 29 different deer on the opener in Clearfield County. Tuesday we kicked out a doe in less than 20 minutes in the woods. Then the rains came and we quit. There was one legal buck and 2 that were legal for my son if he had only seen them. Saw 3 bucks on cars on the way home on Tuesday.
Saturday I hit a local SGL, didn't see anything (heard 6 shots) but did see a nice buck and a large doe strapped to a truck on the way home.
So they're out there, just tough to find sometimes.
