    Arrow Red dot sites

I need to put a red dot sight on my Ruger 10 22. There's quite a bit of them out there. I used the pistol for plinking, are there any in the $50 area that you might recommend.

I put this on my sons 22LR AR pistol and so far it's been good, however it is a very low cost option and your experience might be different.

I also have an older Bushnell TRS-25 that has been on a number of firearms including an AK and now resides on my daughters Savage Rascal which is very accurate out to 75 yards for me. I hear a bit more negative about the new production models but I personally would still be willing to give one a shot.

If your okay with upping your price a bit the Primary arms classic series is a real good budget RDS with very good battery life and it's extremely durable.

I defiantly suggest buying budget optics from Amazon since they are easy to return and usually free shipping both ways.

I have a TRS 25 on a plinker as well. Works pretty good for the money. I've had it on an AR and my 44mag in the past. Has always held zero.

Several of the models by BSA will fit your price point.

There are a lot of no-name brands out there aw well. Go to any gun show and you'll see plenty.

Are you putting the sight on a 10/22 or a pistol?

I think you mean 22/45 rimfire correct?

Yes any of the above optics will work on that it might look a bit large. The dedicated pistol optics like the Vortex Venom or RMR type red dots are going to cost much more and if any are in the $50.00 range they are going to be fragile and most likely crap.

For the pistol I would try the Busnell or the Primary Arms out before anything else.

This is along the lines of what you have correct?

I have Burris FastFire III on a couple of Ruger 22/45 pistols. I like them, but they are more in the $200 range, at least new.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with a $50 optic, even for a 22 plinker pistol. But if you look through sporting goods aisle at WalMart, you'll find something that fits the price range.

I have this one on both my 10/22 rifle and my 22/45 pistol. They were recommended by a friend, and I figured at under $20, they were worth a try before moving up in price. I love them.

That's what I had on my son's 22lr AR when I 1st assembled it and it was pretty cool until he knocked if off the bench and rest he was shooting it off of and it completely shattered when the rifle hit the ground.

I am guessing the OP isn't 7 years old so he might fair better.
