    Default Israeli 9mm Tracer

I have a hundred or so of these that wont fire due to hard primers (so Ive read) Id like
to reload them but dont know what powder to use to ignite them. Anybody have experience
    with them?

Why don't you reuse the powder that is in them?

Primers are probably hard because they were most likely sub gun (uzi) rounds and you should be able to use any standard powder to ignite the tracer compound in the back of the bullet. I am sure with a little googling you can find what the standard powder charge for a 9mm sub gun round is.

I don't reload so I am just going off what I have seen others do that reload 5.56 tracer rounds that worked.

Any powder should ignite them but you will not be able to find load data. The tracer bullets are probably significantly longer and they are shoved deeper into a relatively small case. Pressures can do bad things in those situations.

That is why I suggested reusing the old charge.

They make a tracer that doesn't burn. I just bought 5 boxes from midway or brownells, I think it was midway.

Point being they aren't a fire hazard. Its not easy finding the right place and conditions to spit little incendiary devices around.

Never thought of that, probably going to be all over the place
once I use the inertia hammer.

I looked this morning all I found (few sites) was nothing what I was looking for. I'll do more searching.
I know for the 50 you need special powder, and you have to poke holes in the metal cap or remove the plastic
cap in others to have a better lite ratio. Old bullets I guess are stubborn,.

If you use a new case and different primer you take what you get. Probably won't hurt but when in doubt have no doubt.

Don't know about that. I recall that the M193 used a different propellant in the ball than the tracer. Something about how a different propellant was required to ignite the tracer.

Wouldn't hurt to load up five or ten to see how it goes.

I avoid tracer. Too many stories about the tracing compound being a bit corrosive.
