Large corporations with thousands of employees have lots to lose from sexual harassment lawsuits and such. IT departments install software that prevents their computers from accessing anything nefarious on the internet. So, employees are actually prevented (protected) from “mistakenly” searching or clicking on porn hub.com. You get the proverbial “This web site has been blocked by your employer” message.
We have porn blocked at work, but that doesn't stop people from actively trying to get to porn sites. And if they get blocked from one site, they'll try another and another. We get logs of their activity and will reach out to them to say "WTF?" and that's usually enough for them to knock it off. If they don't stop we report it to their manager and then it's out of our hands.

At a previous consulting job, I had a client that threatened to kick our company out because when we installed a new firewall we blocked porn by default. They were a large real estate development company and it was common for their salespeople to send each other and clients porn videos and URLs. They didn't want to hear anything about liability or security risks, so we created a policy in their firewall labeled "FOR PORN" and added it to their client file so that any of our engineers knew why it was there.

You know, it’s not uncommon for employees to mistakenly click on a link that points to a nefarious web site and the software actually protects them from themselves. On the other hand, anyone who actively seeks out porn sites on a company pc is obviously lacking in judgment and is not someone you want employed at your company. Said employees should be shown the door.

I don't know anyone who doesn't surf the web at work. Either on their own device or the employer's device and on company time.

The last hotel that I stayed at, I told them I wanted the porn disabled. The person behind the counter called me a freak and said they only have regular porn!

Times like these are a true test in a marriage. Hopefully she'll see it as an opportunity for you to find a better job and she'll have your back. All the best to you both.
