Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
I had to fill some time while I was on the tractor today and came across this.
Definitely a different view and approach to future anti gun views and “legal” gun confiscation without due process as we currently know it.
Warning if you can’t pay attention to a 30 minute YouTube video for 30 minutes then don’t bother starting it.
Cliff notes are that Google believes it can control and direct it’s users actions to reflect their beliefs through a new AI app in all their devices. Red flag laws and the TAPS will flourish due to self incrimination via the use of smart devices and their ever expanding uses. In the end all of it will be of our own making in this senecio.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
It kind of sounds like part 2 of the patriot act. Very careful exercise of the first amendment can help protect the second, but my optimism will stop there.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
Should things come together for the socialist movement, which always includes dictatorial controlling of society's problems, gun owners and sympathizers will be easily identified through melding of information readily mined...such as purchases of anything gun-related that leaves breadcrumbs. Magazine subscriptions, memberships, occupations (present or former) requiring gun handling. It will take a Krystal Nacht, but it has happened before. Assemble enough Hoggs and it can happen again.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
Such a night would also have to be accompanied by a MASSIVE information blackout. You think the instant word spread of jack booted commies raiding people's homes in the night to confiscate their guns there wouldn't be entire towns arming up to fight the federal government? At the very least they would have THOUSANDS of terror cells created overnight.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
I hope we don't find out if he is correct. If the USA becomes a real bad guy it won't be long before the entire world is homogenized. AI could be the glue that holds it all together. When the whole world is a prison planet gorilla tactics will become nearly impossible to implement unless we take a page from the Islamic militants suicide bomber play book. That isn't a very compelling option eh? In my opinion there will be a very short time a massive amount of pain could be inflicted, but I doubt it would be enough to force any concessions. Its my personal opinion (again) that the USA won't morph into pure socialism and be governed by a dictatorial system. But, all that said I hope we (I) wouldn't be like sheep if the bad stuff happens.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
Just look at how many cameras there are out there. Traffic light cameras, businesses, buildings, street corners, people. They are everywhere, and we can essentially be tracked from when we leave the house today depending on where we live. If AI is used in a network such as this in concert with your own devices, computers, phones, cars, etc., you will have NO privacy. The DHS/TSA already has equipment that can see through walls to get imaging.

Re: Gun confiscation in the 21st century.
When I was younger one of the popular sayings was; 'don't trust anyone over 30'. So even now I don't want to seem old fashioned, but I am, ha ha...I now think what my father and all the older people said when I was growing up is true. In the late 60's and into the 70's I, and millions of other young people threw morals out the window. At that time I thought the warnings about the loosening of morals and the breakdown of the family unit causing the USA to crash and burn was silly. I also thought technology would save us from ourselves. Wrong !
