I have very good hearing and will attest that people don't enunciate. They mumble, low talk and do that throaty growl thing that teenaged girls do. I'm constantly making my daughters repeat what they say so I can understand them.

Modern films and television shows have sound that sucks. Proof...tune in shows from the 50s and 60s, and movies from that era. No trouble understanding the actors.

I liked the "sick" jokes. Such as:

Mommy, can I play with Grandmom?

If you dig her up one more time!!

I have two Phonak units for 4 years now, and they work great. There maybe an opportunity to get a good deal through a Costco membership. They sell Phonak and their own brand. Their brand is excellent too. My sister has them and she saved about 20% from what I paid. They offer good support too and free hearing tests. I will br going there for replacements if and when needed.

If you are a veteran with at least a 10% service connected disability, you are entitled to hearing aids from the VA (glasses too). Call 800-827-1000. If that does not apply and you must buy them, You no longer have to go to an audiologist to get modern hearing aids. I think Consumer Reports wrote about to get modern mail order hearing aids adjusted professionally. Yes, you will pay a little
