Default The Wife's 1st outing with her 10/22

Just wanted to post a pic of my wife's first 20 shots with her new 10/22 at the range this past weekend. It was fired offhand with iron sights on a B-34 silhouette at 15 yards with CCI stingers. Not to shabby

Looks like she did pretty good with it. I'm sure she'll be shooting more with it.

I took my mother to a gun range, and she got a very tight group. She likes to shoot my .22, and isn't nervous about me owning guns anymore like the way she used to be.

Remind me never to tick that woman off. Pretty darn good shooting for the first 20 rounds from any weapon out of the box.

My friend's wife was one of those "don't want to fire it...blamblamblam" types. Can't shoot a pistol worth a darn, but deadly with a shotgun or a rifle. After watching her shoot I said, "Well now you can never leave her."

He says "Why, cause it would be hard to find another good woman that can shoot too?"

I say "Nope. Cause your fat ass can't get out of her range fast enough."
John: How come I'm not afraid?
D'Argo: Fear accompanies the possibility of death. Calm shepherds its certainty.
John: I love hanging with you, man.

Jimmy, good deal, and good shooting to her, it will only get better.

try some standard hi-vel, the stingers are fast, and good to break in a gun, but are fairly inaccurate in most tests.
also, try a fine red dot on the gun, it gets even better, the ruger irons are kind of lousy.

also, make sure after a couple hundred rounds to break down the gun, and clean any gummed up paint out of the receiver, the epoxy based receiver paint they use wears off under heat and friction, and kind of pills up in the receiver and may cause problems.

oh, and pick up a passel of 30rd hicap mags for the gun while they ar cheap, if you look around, you can get eagles as litle as $6.99 each.... with possible bans coming, its wise.

I bought 2 Ramline 30 rounders with me and they both malfunctioned the very first time I tried to use them. I'll try another brand.

The Wife has shot before but has not been to the range for awhile due to our new baby. When she did go regularly she was quite the good shot, often beating a lot of my buddies on the clay range. She seems to be a natural with long guns but needs a little practice with the pistol.

Butler Creek Hot Lips 25 rounders are working well for me. They are all plastic, but they work.
