Default Looking for "Lamar" who had a shop in 1994

Good morning all - I'm new and found this site by accident, but at the most appropriate time!
I purchased two North American Arms revolvers from a shop in 1994. The gentleman's name was
Lamar and his shop was in the basement of his home. Don't remember the town. I lived in Red
Lion at the time and my friend, who lived in Chambersburg, was always looking for new shops and
good deals on guns and accessories - just don't know how he came across "Lamar". I moved around
for my job, relocating to both Maryland and Massachusetts, so left my pistols with a friend in PA.
Anyway, I am trying to prove that I purchased and own this revolver, can't locate the receipt, and was wondering
if any of you happen to know where Lamar was located, specifically address. Would really like to get this
revolver on my permit. (PS- Yes, confusing. but to make it more confusing, I now live in New York State- that
should answer any questions!!!) Thank you

Sorry I cannot help but trying to find a basement FFL from 25 years ago going by the guy's 1st name only is going to be a real challenge. Even if your able to find him he may already be out of business and his records turned over to the ATF or destroyed.

I am not sure if there is any other way for you to find a bill of sale or proof of ownership.

Could you possibly have the person you loaned it to go to a gun shop and do a transfer for some new paperwork?

I realize 25 years - a lot could have happened! Hoping that as long as I can supply the model and serial number, records would show that I purchased it legally!

Try using Gunbroker's find an FFL - they may be listed if still active:

If you can't find Lamar, I would take ICP's advice above, just do another transfer, even if just to yourself, so they are on record for the a$$hats in Albany.

The person holding it said it would be too difficult to get any paperwork after 25 years without knowing (at least) a town.

Sounds like the person holding it wants to continue holding it

If that's the case, it can be reported stolen.
