OAKS 2 Day Show Aug 3rd & Aug 4th, 2019

I got there today at 10:30 am with no line. I counted a total of 30 empty tables, not all together but in a cluster of 5's.
I ended up not buying anything. No one had any of the magazines that I was looking for, French Unique Model 15 and Spanish Elustondo 7rd.

This was the worst Oaks show I have ever been to. Luckily, it wasn't crowded around lunchtime this morning so parking was easy and there was no line to get in. But, there was also more junk than usual, the jerky place I like (Peters Brothers) wasn't there, prices weren't as good as they were sometimes in the past, and I saw a dude getting arrested as I left. But it gets better. Just as I was walking toward the door, some guy in his mid-late 50's who, based off his speech, seemed to not be all there propositioned me if I wanted to make $200. He either wanted a handy in the bathroom or in my guesstimation, wanted me to do a straw purchase for him. Before my alarm could go off, I waved him away and kept walking but a few seconds later my Spidey senses went off and I told the 2 cops at the door.

I was delivering pizza as he was arrested. Lol.
Allegedly may have tried to buy a gun with open warrants.

After today I'll give Oaks one more chance in October with the real big one but if that's anything of a dud, then I'm done. Anymore I can buy only with free shipping or give my business to locals instead. Hell, I bought 1000 rounds of S&B 9mm from Target World on Thursday for less than $160 out the door. That 308 Ammo guy wanted $165 and he charges tax on that.

I was looking for a single point QD sling for my ar pistol. Same cheap chinese bungee slings that amazon has for $9 shipped prime in 2 days, marked up to $30.
There are definitely some deals but you have to pick around.


After speaking with many vendors all day, deals will be cut for tomorrow just to cover expenses for many of them.

Quite a few vendors also stated that its pretty well known that this show(August, not oaks) is typically a bust year after year.

I couldnt tell you where it was if my life depended on it, but there was definitely 1 or 2 sellers that had French Unique mags, or at least little signs for them. No idea what model condtion or quantity if any tho.
But i do know i seen french unique written on a divided mag bin.

Still considering going Sunday. Holsingers if nothing else and maybe I can find an extra mag or two for my P-64.

I agree the Oaks show is getting a little ridiculous with the non gun vendors.... What grain is the S&B at Target World?

At the Allentown show one of the vendors had some ammo for the Uniques but he wanted $40 a box for it. I passed on it.
