Walmart was out of the damn envelopes by the time I bought my license. I thought I had spares at home but apparently not.

What a convoluted, overcomplicated process.

Fill this out, make sure you right the right address in the right location, stick the app in here, don't forget your two stamps, lick this portion of the envelope and stick it to the other half where the only thing holding it together is a tiny little bit of hope.

My kid got his license on Wednsday.

Thursday night. I filled out the envelope, put his application in it, and stuck on the two stamps I got from the Mrs.

Friday at lunch, I went to the bank, grabbed some Pott's hot dogs, went to Donley's to get my license, and mailed off the apps at the post office.

Later that night, my wife asked, "Hey, which stamps did you use?"

My feeling of great accomplishment, immediately turned to impending doom.

"Uh, the Christmas ones, why?"

"They're a penny short. Sorry, I thought they were forever stamps."
