Default Range report of the New Colt GC Trophy

The brand new Colt Gold Cup Trophy in .45 acp got 200 rounds today of Winchester and Remington 230 grain GI ball.

After sighting in the rear, it’s proved to be both accurate and reliable. Zero Failures. The dual recoil spring system makes the .45 feel like nothing!

Two of the short 7 round mags didn’t lock the slide back on the last round a few times. The two 8 round mags with the bumpers locked back the slide every time when empty.

No FTF, no FTE. Just smooth running like a sewing machine for 200 rounds straight. Since I carry GI FMJ in .45 , this is going to be a great carry piece.

The target shown was at 8 yards.

Very cool! I've always have liked GCNM's and Trophy's. Is there a smaller spring within a larger spring to get the dual spring recoil system?

Thanks. Yes, the dual recoil system is just a smaller diameter spring running inside a larger one. It really makes recoil almost non existent. Amazing.

If you want to learn to really love it....Give it a try again with Federal 185 gr JSWC target loads (or handloaded equal) at 50 yards slow fire and 25 yds timed and rapid fire. Use standard NRA Conventional Pistol targets.
    Enjoy it in good health!
