    Default Newbie in Washington

Hello, I'm L. I am in Washington and still waiting for my permit to come in the mail. I have yet to buy my gun. I am waiting for the permit first. Just thought I would introduce myself.

Advice on buying your first gun: go to a range that rents guns (Elite Firearms, INPAX in Pittsburgh, Keystone, Anthony Arms, etc) and try a few before picking one. Lot's of variables will decide what gun is right for you. 2nd thing, take a class or two at a range.

A good opportunity is also to come to our Group Shoots. It's a bit of a drive (not too bad though) from you, but it's a good chance to try a bunch of different firearms, and there's a bunch of people there that can give some pointers, and it'll help with the getting to meet people in the area.

Next one is scheduled for August 17th. Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsmen's Club is always the venue.
