    Default Federal syntech range ammo?

I think I'm behind the times, but I just discovered that federal has this synthetic ammo for range use.

They claim, "Syntech® Training Match™, loads that offer the same velocity, trajectory and point of impact as equivalent Federal Premium® Personal Defense® HST®."

And it looks like SGAmmo sells it at 11 dollars/50 rounds.

If it gives the same performance of my 147gr HST at 11 dollars a box, it seems like a no brainer to switch to this for my range ammo.

Anyone have any experience with it?

I was using 115gr Syntech last winter in our indoor range. Accuracy was good for "range ammo" and it functioned well in my SR1911 and Star BM.

Nothing new! It's just an update of the old S&W Nyclad ammo of the late-70s. Federal bought the rights and even reintroduced Nyclad ammo under their label. A synthetic jacket reduces fouling and costs , and makes for an effective and low-cost duty/training round.

Target Sports USA has it for $11.99 a box or $119.00 for 500 rounds with free shipping and it's in stock.

For anyone that cares, SG Ammo has this back in stock. I have 2K rounds coming.

I saw this ammo out more at USPSA matches this year and no one was complaining about it so that's a good thing.

Call me crazy, but I swear I can smell when people are shooting it. It has a slightly different odor and every time I looked to see what ammo I was smelling it was syntech!
