Default Mentored youth during archery season

Trying to figure this out. Haven't gotten a clear answer so far. With a mentored youth (age 7), if i want to take them out during archery deer season, do they need archery added to their mentored youth tag?

To me, mentored youth they have limited hunting rights ($3 mentored youth tag) to begin with, so adding $11 archery seems useless with the restrictions. Remember they aren't carrying their own bow anyway due to the restrictions.

No archery privilege required. May I ask what type of bow your 7 year old will be shooting. I am assuming crossbow.

Less her shooting and more just getting her out in the woods with me. If she does it'll probably be me tuning down one of my compounds to 35 lbs draw.

You also need to worry about draw length, at 7yr old, her draw length will be different then your adult bow.

I gave my daughter a choice for archery, compound or crossbow. She chose compound, so I researched the web and found they make youth compound bows that are adjustable for poundage and draw length that will grow with her into her adult years. We went with the Bear Apprentice 3.

The bow i was thinking of goes down to 15" draw length. Bow is the Diamond Edge SB-1 15-30" draw and 7-70 lbs adjustable without a press. She still needs to practice. Not sure she can pull the 35 lbs min hunting weight yet even.
