    I'm no Biblical scholar, but I seem to recall that the Israelites were pretty devout, and they believed in the lord . . .but they still used swords and spears when fighting for their lives.

    If you assume that God wants you to live, then you should notice that God gave us opposable thumbs and a planet full of iron ore. Maybe he's pretty much provided his help already.

    Reminds me of the joke about God speaking to a drowned believer, and God says "I sent 2 boats and a helicopter, what were you waiting for?"
