    Default Using Binoculars

I don't care if you laugh, this is a serious question. I feel that when using binoculars, and since I wear glasses, I should touch my glasses to the eyecup with it twisted down and not extended. It seems I can see well that way; if I hold away from my glasses, the image is not as good.

Is that what I am supposed to do?

Don't use your glasses, you should be able to focus the binocs enough to account for your eyesight. That's what I always do.

Provided you aren't wearing coke bottle lenses in your glasses, you should be able to use the diopter on the bino's and adjust them to see clearly, without the glasses. I wear glasses from time to time but never when I shoot or use optics.

If you are using the binocs while wearing your glasses, you should fold down the rubber eye cups onto the oculars. This reduces the focal length (eye relief) and widens what is known as the "exit pupil", which will give you a wider field of view.

If you remove your glasses it works even better, but some folks prefer to keep their glasses on while using the binoculars. Switching from glasses to no glasses, depending on what you are looking for, is a PITA and typically results in sliding your glasses onto the top of your head where they end up falling on the ground and getting scratched. At least, that's my experience.

Yeah, I can focus without them fine but true putting them on and off becomes troublesome.

Get a neck strap for your glasses.
