    Default Chinese SKS

Are these somewhat beat up Chinese SKS's from Classic worth $349 ( $20 extra for hand picked, $20 extra for milled trigger ). Classic was very good many years ago - then went totally to shit for a while - they seem to be wanting to get back to a reputable company. I ordered one item since they started their improvement and was happy. Just curious on these babies ? My shop said they took one in and it was pretty beat up but purchaser was happy with what he got. I really want a Russian or Albanian but still waiting on a deal

    I don't see the point.

AK's are more fun, AR's are cheaper

Can't speak to their condition, but request one with a screwed-in barrel instead of a pressed-and-pinned barrel. I've seen only one pressed and pinned Chinese SKS come apart, but why take the chance?

The SKS is still used by Chinese, Russian, North Korean, and other ComBloc honor guards. Piece of history, first intermediate cartridge semi auto rifle for the ComBloc countries. Besides, with one, Cruzans can right-shoulder-arms and goose step back and forth across his driveway . . .

Why goosestep with a puny little sks when you can do it with a 15 foot long bayoneted mosin?

Sounds like a plan - heading to the driveway - all my liberal neighbors will love it - lol.

I have friends on an SKS site that ordered from this batch and the condition is poor compared to what is being advertised, and the $20.00 "hand pick" fee is what got them that. Typical Classic Arms BS advertising with all over usual over exaggerating on the grade and condition of their "Vietnam era" rifles.

I am a huge SKS lover and collector and I would pass on these for the $350.00 and defiantly NOT do the hand pick.

I would bet my bank account sweaty Ben couldn't tell and screw fit from a pressed fit barrel if his life depended on it.

Classic's grading is complete bullshit. I'll never give them business again. Check the classifieds or local armslist, there are plenty of pristine Chinese sks out there.
