Colt Gold Cup
A guy at trap tonight asked me if I was interested in a 1980's vintage Colt gold cup Stainless steel with "nice wood grips" as well as the original black grips.
The Price $ 600. Is this a good price. I am not really looking for a new hand gun.I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

Re: Colt Gold Cup
I don't know about things in WI, but in PA that would be a very good price unless the gun is in really bad shape. Does it include box/papers and/or extra mags?
Very good price = didn't you buy it yet?Illegitimus non carborundum est

.
I have a series 70 blue that is my favorite of all I own. I'd love to get a stainless version, If you pass on it I'd love to get a shot at it.

Do it, you won't regret it.
I paid @ 750 for a blued one in really nice shape a few years ago. I thought that was a decent price back then.

Re: Colt Gold Cup
I personally would prefer the 1970 Colt Gold Cup ! That would be in the range of $ 1,500 and the 1970s are much more desirable, having owned one at a time I really did not see much difference between the two as shooters but as collectible and Colt aficionado the 1970s are crème del a crème ! JMO.

Re: Colt Gold Cup
Sounds good to me. Be sure to run the safety checks to make sure everything is OK and check the bore and lock-up.
