Exclamation California Becomes the First State to Enact Total Lead Bullet Hunting Ban

    cali.jpg

California is set to become the first state to ban the use of lead bullets for all hunting activities. The law, originally passed in 2013, will take full effect in less than one month on July 1, 2019, and will apply to all hunters taking any type of game with a firearm on public or private land.

“All ammunition in a hunter’s possession may be inspected

Maybe they should start with their real threat.

The whole lead thing is BS. The only problem I see is with things like the 17HMR, 22. No small monolithic bullets yet. Plenty of shotgun shells out there that are not lead based. F commiefornia.

Hunters should start to use Depleted Uranium rounds.

Didn't read the article, but I'm gonna assume that the reason for this is because lead pellets kill birds of prey.

Let me know when Caliphornia gets around to tearing down all those green windmills that will never be able to pay back the amount of energy needed to create them.

“Proponents of the ban argue that lead bullets present an environmental risk to wildlife, especially the endangered California Condor.”

There is no doubt that lead in carcasses is a problem for Condors, about 70% of the condors in Arizona test positive for lead.

    On the other hand, …
If there was ever a specie that was destined to go extinct, it’s the California Condor:
    1. They do not reach breeding maturity until 7 years old.
    2. The breeding pair mates every other year.
    3. Only one chick in the nest survives.
