Default Looking for a range between Waynesboro & York

I'm hoping some of you guys can help me out a little.

I'm looking for a public or private range in Franklin, Adams, York or Cumberland counties, somewhere between Waynesboro and York, PA. I have a cousin-in-law who seemed interested in the guns I brought along to a family get together (especially my grandfathers Savage 99), so I thought I'd invite him to meet me at a range somewhere in the middle. Maybe around Gettysburg? My PA geography knowledge is lacking.

We will be shooting mainly long guns but will have at least one handgun along. I'd like to have targets ranging out to 100 yds, but 50 or 75 yards will work well too.

I also need some specifics, such as:
    Are there shooting benches?
    Are the shooting benches covered?
    Are metal spinner targets ok?
Are there target stands there (for paper targets)?
    Are there bathrooms?

I'm thinking a SGL range would do well for us, but I looked at the Game Commission website and couldn't make heads or tails of what they were trying to tell me.

    Any help would be appreciated.

There is a very "basic" range in Michaux State Forest. It is free to use but you need a permit from the Michaux State forest office along RT 30 by Caledonia State Park.. The range is just off of RT 233. Turn onto the dirt road that takes you up to Long Pine Resevoir. just past the lake, there will be a road onto your right and a sign pointing you in the right direction. there is a 70 yd range and then a smaller separate range for handguns. no bathrooms, but its in the mountain. there are table to shoot off of also

    Chambersburg Pistol & Rifle Club
    P.O. Box 641,

There are benches for the rifle range (both covered and uncovered), but none for the pistol range. There are a couple of narrow tables that can be moved out if you want to bench your pistol, but there is no seating to do this.

    Not sure about spinners.

There are target backs for rifle range, and holders for the pistol range. You'll need a piece of cardboard (~24" wide, I think) to slide into the holders.

    Restroom (porta-pottys) on site.

This is a private club, and NRA membership is a requirement to join. I'm a member, and would be happy to show you the grounds - no obligation. With the recent time change and early darkness, weekends would provide the best opportunity to get a good look at things.

West Shore Sportsmen's in a fine club.

Adams County Sport Handgunner's Association has good facilities, too. Pretty cheap dues, just a bit north of Gettysburg up Rt-15.
