Homemade Python presentation box.

I’m just looking to show a solid oak box I put together specifically for my 6 inch Python and tell everyone how easy it was to do. Here goes....it was pretty easy ; ). The material was one 1x12x6’ oak, some hinges and clasps, foam and fabric. The total price for the box itself was around 30 bucks and then I threw in the old belt buckle (which I modified) for an extra 14 from eBay. I know there’s something about owning a factory original box but to pay for an aftermarket one doesn’t make much sense to me. Thanks for looking and I am looking for feedback, good or bad. The gun by the way is a 1969 6 inch version. I already put up a photo in the what did you buy today thread so some of you may have seen it already. Thanks for looking.

That is nice.
My skill set is limited. I have no artistic ability what so ever.
My skills as a carpenter may be even worse.
I build for function ..... not fashion. And there is debate about that even.
But I always like to see things from those people who are skilled.

Thanks everyone. I’m looking for a way to tighten up the fabric after in recesses into the cutouts. The area under the grips is putting my ocd into overdrive.
