FUNDRAISING EFFORT UNDERWAY FOR HOMEOWNER CHARGED FOLLOWING DEERFIELD FATAL SHOOTING

DEERFIELD, N.Y. -- A fundraising effort is underway for the man who shot and killed two alleged intruders in what state police are calling an attempted burglary in Deerfield.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Ronald Stolarczyk with a goal of raising $10,000 for legal fees.

According to the page, all money raised will be used to hire a legal defense team versed in the second amendment laws of our country.

So far, more than $500 has been raised.

Suspected intruders, Patricia Anne Talerico, age 57, and her nephew, 27-year-old Nicholas Talerico, were killed in the incident.

Stolarczyk used his deceased father's gun in the shooting, which was not re-registered in his name, according to officials. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and is currently being held in the Oneida County Jail pending an appearance in Deerfield Town Court on Monday night.

Been up a day and it’s up to $2,340 out of its $10,000 goal. I’m going to kick a few bucks over tomorrow and hope he prevails and possibly moves towards a positive change for gun owners and rights.

Just a thought. Would New York be willing to go to court over the No Permit charge with the challenge that NYC has going on in front of the SCOTUS? May be another nail in NYs coffin.

Sir, I will say you are awesome. I thoroughly enjoy reading your posts, but unfortunately I feel I must correct you on this one little thing. I even didn't know this until a few days ago, and learned about it while watching a stupid tv show with my wife.

A petrad is not an impaling device, it is in fact a small bomb.

Also to be on topic, if I were on this guy's jury, I'd vote innocent.

I stand corrected, and well past due; my understanding of a "petard" was that it was a poleaxe or halberd, and I was told this in high school, and I believe shown a picture by the teacher. The subject hasn't come up much since then.

I'd correct my post, but I'll leave it be in the spirit of King Canute and his demonstration with the tide.

Meanwhile, let's all harken back to the days when homeowners and brigands fought it out the way God intended:
