Default Gun clubs in Carbon county

    Hey guys,

I am looking at joining a gun club in Carbon so I can get on a range to get some shooting in. I am looking at Palmerton, which I heard is great, and also Bowmanstown. Can anybody give me some insight on these and other clubs in the area and how I can get accepted for membership. Thanks!

There is a gun club in Jim Thorpe, the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun, I don't know much more than that about it. Don't know where you are in Carbon, but those are the only 3 I have heard of. Good Luck,

Palmerton is 300 yards... very nice for rifle :-) Btw Palmerton rarely answers phone or messages...need to go during monthly meeting to join...I think its second tuesday each month..but dont quote me!

We are members at Palmerton but prefer Bowmanstown(only 100 yards though).Much more idealic setting. Decent enough for pistol. Great for blackpowder -nice seperate range! Not crowded. Has bar, restaurant too.

Come in any weekday after 4 and join on the spot (not sure they do it weekends) Call after 4pm if you want to talk to person who will clue you in.

Dues are reasonable too...forget how much its so little :-)

There is another club with a nice set up closer to Lehighton but we never joined....forgot which one it is. Howver, Kids are NEVER allowed at firing line...which seems pretty dumb...how can you teach your kids then?
if you ever see my post edited...its most likely for speling :D
