Sounds like the people a few years back who tried to smuggle contraband onto airplanes "to prove a point" and make the TSA look bad.

So they set out to create the proof instead... People who refuse to deal with reality have a mental disorder and can be dangerous... Unless the perp is a good liberal, who is taught to ignore actual reality and simply create their own... Then it's just a faux pas that they got caught...
