Gun control advocate and author to speak at Harrisburg book-signing event
By Sean Adams | sadams@pennlive.com
The Midtown Scholar Bookstore in Harrisburg will host a gun control advocate for a speaking and book signing event.
Igor Volsky, co-founder and executive director of Guns Down America, will appear at the bookstore for a signing of his new book, “Guns Down: How to Defeat the NRA and Build a Safer Future with Fewer Guns.”
The event, “Guns Down: An Evening with Igor Volsky,” will begin at 7 p.m. on May 21. Seating is first come, first served, with a book signing to follow immediately after Volsky’s presentation.
“Guns Down” outlines Volsky’s and Guns Down America’s plans to reduce guns in circulation and tighten regulations of the gun industry. It also outlines a New Second Amendment Compact, a plan for reforming gun policies nationwide.
Volsky drew national attention for criticizing the idea of “thoughts and prayers” espoused by lawmakers following mass shootings, particularly those legislators who have accepted financial donations from the National Rifle Association.

Lamestream news will probably publish a picture of one of Trump's rally lines touting it as the line at that book signing.

I am pretty sure that I don't care about his new 2nd amendment plan, his LGBTQ activism or pretty much anything else he tries to do. Like many before him he wont get nearly as far as he thinks he will especially without Bloomburg type money.
Seats for tonight's event are 1st come 1st serve so you guy's better Harrisburg guys better get a move on.Join the GOA & save $5.00. https://www.gunowners.org/mac-subs-join-goa.htm

Soviet born commie flees to America only to embrace the totalitarianism he and his family fled. Big surprise.
Nice try comrade.

This guy must really mean business with his new book, just look at the kind of support he has.

Anyone who wants to help build safe American communities must read this book.”
—Alyssa Milano, actress and producer
“Finally a voice—not of mere reason or common sense—but a basic, radical embrace of the fact that we DO need to take away guns. And we need to shape a new ideology, not placate or follow or change by piecemeal the gun lobby’s broken litany of the past. We need more voices, like Igor Volsky’s, who dare to voice the truth: we have too many guns.”
—Alan Cumming, actor and humanitarian
Igor Volsky sets out a long-term vision for the gun violence prevention movement—a country with fewer guns. That’s a goal that all political candidates—especially progressives—should take seriously, especially as the clout and political power of the NRA continues to shrink.”
—John Podesta, White House Chief of Staff to President William J. Clinton
We may as well just throw the towel in now along with our gun's. I mean how can we retain our rights when this guy has so many powerful and influential supporters?
Probably the most honest review there will ever be.

Fraught with unsubstantiated claims designed to tug at emotions with limited objectivity. The whole book reads like a bad op-ed piece... the amount of fallacious logic is bothersome. For instance, the author specifically claims that less firearms = less suicides. This claim comes with 0 data cited and is clearly written by someone with no schooling or even basic understanding of personal mental health. I’ve been a medical professional for 6 years working with patients suffering with anything to schizoaffective disorder to suicidal/homicidal ideations and attempts everyday at work. Anyone in the mental health field, regardless of your position on firearms would be bothered by the sheer misinformation spread on mental health through this book. These wild, unsubstantiated claims about mental health make it hard for me to get behind the message of this book, even as a born and raised Californian.
The book is written by the founder of a prevalent anti-gun organization with the literal stated goals of not just halting firearms manufacturing through regulation, but destroying existing firearms as fast as possible. It’s a road map to disarming a nation under the guise of potential safety and it feels more like a dystopic propaganda than anything.1.0 out of 5 starsPolitical propaganda

This book is written by self-proclaimed political refugee from Soviet oppression. Who came with his family to American soil and is now building the same oppressive ideas here, attacking fundamental individual rights of law abiding citizens. I would give this book less than one star if I couldJoin the GOA & save $5.00. https://www.gunowners.org/mac-subs-join-goa.htm
