Default F.A.L.'s I hardly ever see any in Pa...

I love the FAL platform especially the inch pattern/commonwealth rifles [Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada & India] but I almost never see any in local shops & I have never seen another at any of the ranges that I have been a member of. I usually bring at least 1 when I go to the range & guys always ask a ton of questions about them. Maybe it's my area, I've been a member of Holmesburg, Langhorne, Palmerton & now University Rifle club, I use to go to Wicens a lot too. Never seen another FAL or L1A1. I just think it's strange, have any of you guys had the same experience? Do any of you know any shops here in Pa that occasionally have them on the wall? I have 13 of them right now & 5 kit's waiting to be built as $$ allows.
    Here are some of mine

From my personal perspective, I have been interested in FALs for a while, but have been put off from buying one by the fact that none are available new except from DSA, who has a spotty reputation.

FAL - 8 feet long and 75 lbs

AR15 - Fits in your pocket and doesn't even register on a scale

The FAL is way too heavy for today's men. That's why they stop producing them.

The FAL is not a "platform".
It is a lady-lookin' foreign made collection of sexy Belgian curves that intimidates the shit out of today's Pajama-boy males.

^^^THIS, coupled with the dry up of parts kits and receivers, accompanied by a run up in price for receivers, parts kits, and finished guns.

The only FALs I see for sale at shops and shows are the sometimes sketchy Century builds, and they don't stay on a shelf long. A local LGS had two DSA carbines over a three year period, and had me work on both because they wouldn't run reliably.

Personally, I have three: Original Springfield/Imbel SAR48, a second SAR48 "Para", and an Armscorp metric receiver wearing an Enfield L1A1 parts kit and Maranyl furniture. They are my favorite MBRs, and my heirs will have to deal with them.

Very nice collection, NSS! Perhaps there are none to be seen in PA shops because you own most of the FALs in the state.

We have two FALS in our collection, a DSA SA58-0SW and an L1A1. Personally, I love the L1A1, took a while to get it to rock on full-auto, but it's surprisingly controllable. That DSA just beats you to death.

I'm planning on attending the June 15th PAFOA Group Shoot and I'll bring up the L1A1 if you are going to be there, have to shoot it on semi-auto though.

I think the AR has pretty much dominated the semi auto rifle market due to it's aftermarket support, ubiquity, and low cost.

    I'm a G3 guy myself.
