I'm planning on attending the June 15th PAFOA Group Shoot and I'll bring up the L1A1 if you are going to be there, have to shoot it on semi-auto though.
That's just depressing, having a fun switch present and you can't use it. You should come up to the central PA shoot, where we allow rifles to be themselves.

I've twisted together a lot of FALs over the years.
There's a few of them laying around here still.

The best kits dried up many years ago and now command upwards of a grand for primo kits.
DSA receivers have been hit or miss over the years. There is a premium paid for early D.S. LMT contract receivers.

If you haunt the market place at the FAL FILES, good running guns can be had for reasonable prices.
It seems a small number of collectors have driven up prices for primo kits and receivers. Building it yourself is no longer a way to save dough on an FAL.

I would love one, but, just tough to find a good one and starts leaning towards just saying F' it and getting a FNSCAR in 762

You could easily find a nice Imbel kit in very good condition for under $600
Next find an Imbel receiver in between $600 & $650
Then either buy the tools & screw it together or send it off to someone like Mark Graham @ Arizona response systems & have him build it for you.
You'll be into it for about $1500 but it'll be better than anything DSA has put out in a LONG while.

You're probably right Noah. I keep telling myself that I don't need any more FAL variants but I just can't help myself

The FALFILES is my usual haunt, most of my riFAL's were built on either Imbel receivers or DS prefix [LMT Made] receivers, I do have 2 Coonan inch receivers & 1 older Coonan metric that Arizona Response Systems built for me into a Rhodesian clone, Mark said it was one of his easier builds.
I'm always in their MP looking for another. I also have 2 Argy receivers, 1 waiting to be built & the other is a Beautiful Argy Para that ARS just sent back to me.
